Breakfast & Brunch, Miami

Zuma brunch in Miami

As much as I love my husband’s scrambled eggs, sometimes I love just heading out for a nice breakfast!  Whether it’s breakfast with a view, a fancy brunch with friends or just to grab a quick bite, here are a few of our favorite local spots most of which can double as good lunch places.

B-Bistro Brickell ($$$) is one of our go to spots whether we are eating alone or with friends. It can get very packed on the weekends with limited tables available but it’s surely worth the wait. Be careful sitting outside in the summer months, it can still feel blazing hot! Our favorite dishes from here include the Pastelito pancakes and the salmon scrambled eggs. Make sure you save room for dessert, everything here is amazing! Our favorite being chocolate cream puff, simply divine. This place can also double as a great lunch spot if you are looking for something nice in the Brickell area.

Crazy About You ($$) is the perfect place for that water view you may be looking for when visiting Miami at an affordable price. The best seat in the house is outside overlooking the Brickell Bay with complementary sea breeze (ladies make sure you bring a hair tie, your hair will be flying all over the place). If you can’t get outside inside seating is not a bad option with chic décor, making you feel like you’re in an old French bistro. Parking here can be limited but valet is available at a reasonable price.

La Muse Café ($$) downtown is not only a cute place for breakfast or lunch but doubles as an art Gallery with European inspired decor! Almost like a pop up restaurant, they have placed tables within the gallery giving you great views from all angles. Make reservations for this place, it’s always busy just showing up might be risky. For free parking get your ticket validated from your server.

Pinch Kitchen ($$) is located a bit north of Mid-Town in what is now called the Upper East Side of Miami. It’s a bit hidden and something you could easily drive by! The restaurant is small, quaint, has great farmhouse décor and good service. There’s a decent selection of healthy options for both breakfast and lunch along with the savory non healthy bites. We had the baked shrimp empanadas (my favorite thing there), salmon sandwich and veggie burger. Parking here is very limited and you may feel the outside is a bit sketchy but when you go inside you’ll see a totally different place!

Macondo Coffee Roasters ($) is one of my go to places near my house! With it’s unique, quirky decor this place is more than just your average coffee shop and a great place to bring clients, friends, family, a date…pretty much anyone! The food here ranges from delicious bakery items & egg baguettes to bowls & salads if you’re looking for something on the healthy end. Being a coffee shop of course they also serve delicious Colombian roasted beans just how you like it (French press, drip coffee, cappuccino etc.) all with a complementary smile.

Zuma ($$$) is a bit on the higher end but an all-inclusive brunch option. What does that mean? All you can drink champagne (yes real champs not sparkling wine), great selection of wine, cocktails like lychee martinis along with a fully stocked buffet with everything from fried chicken, pork bao, sushi, sashimi, mushroom rice and much more. You’ll also get a selection of main course after the buffet which includes beef tenderloin (my favorite), salmon and a few other items. To top it all off you’ll get a huge dessert platter with lychee ice cream, a variety of cakes and cheesecakes to choose from. Overall you do get quite a lot for the price tag, valet is also necessary but complementary before 4pm.

Michaels Genuine ($$$) has been on the list of Miami’s top breakfast/brunch spots for a few years. Located in the design district, home to Gucci, LV, Fendi (my favorite place to window shop!) this is a great option to have a bite to eat and take a stroll. The menu is Tapas style/small dishes (not my favorite style of dining) but has some great eats, signature drinks and will give you that Miami experience. Try the deviled eggs, they are some of the best I’ve had in Miami!

Jaya at the Setai Hotel will be another lavish brunch ($$$) but is a great option for any special occasion! With its South Asian inspired dishes, you can eat as much Indian curry, masala, baos and dim sum as you like. Bottomless champagne is also part of the deal, be sure to call for reservations.

Rusty Pelican ($$$) is known for its incredible Miami Skyline views (it’s a huge spot for weddings too) and is located just outside of downtown on the causeway. If you’re looking for a perfect view for your brunch, this is the place to hit up!

Looking for a pumping brunch party? There’s a few places for that too. Sunday brunching in Miami is one of our favorite past times, who doesn’t love Sunday Fun days? One thing I had to learn about brunching in Miami is that it starts late, it’s more like an early dinner session with most party places picking up about 3pm. Checkout Bagatelle, the world famous Nikki Beach or Seaspice located on the Miami River. All pricy ($$$) but will give you that iconic party brunch Miami is known for. Reservations are key here and deposits may be required for large groups.
